About

Hunter Pure Air is a home wellness brand focused on helping families maintain cleaner and healthier indoor environments. Their product range includes air purifiers, replacement filters, and air quality solutions designed for long-term use.

Because filters require regular replacement, subscriptions are a core part of their business model. Customers rely on timely deliveries to maintain air quality, making consistency and reliability critical to the overall experience.

Challenge

As Hunter Pure Air scaled, the system supporting their subscription business began to create limitations.

They were using Bold Subscriptions alongside Authorize.net for recurring billing. While this setup worked initially, it introduced constraints as the business grew. Payment processing was tied to a single gateway, making it difficult to transition to Shopify Payments or centralize operations.

At the same time, the business had grown to over 2,000 active subscribers across three separate Shopify stores. Managing subscriptions across multiple systems created fragmentation, limited visibility into data, and increased operational complexity.

The biggest challenge, however, was migration risk. With thousands of active subscribers, even a small issue—such as a failed charge, broken billing cycle, or lost subscription detail—could result in immediate revenue loss and customer dissatisfaction.

Hunter Pure Air needed a solution that could handle a high-volume migration while maintaining complete continuity for their customers.

Solution

Hunter Pure Air implemented Easy Subscriptions to modernize and stabilize their subscription infrastructure.

The approach focused on precision and continuity. Before any migration began, the system was integrated into their Shopify environment to ensure compatibility with existing products and workflows.

The migration process involved transferring over 2,000 active subscribers from Bold Subscriptions while preserving:

  • Billing cycles
  • Subscription plans
  • Customer preferences
  • Payment details

At the same time, the business transitioned all recurring billing from Authorize.net to Shopify Payments. This eliminated dependency on external gateways and brought payment management directly into Shopify.

Once the primary migration was complete, the same setup was extended to two additional brands—Filter Monster and Live Pure—creating a unified subscription system across all three stores.

Implementation

The migration was executed in a structured and controlled manner to ensure zero disruption.

Each subscriber was moved with complete data accuracy, ensuring that billing schedules, renewal dates, and subscription configurations remained unchanged. Customers did not need to re-subscribe or update payment details.

The transition to Shopify Payments was handled alongside the migration, allowing all recurring billing to operate within a single ecosystem.

Following a successful rollout on the main store, the infrastructure was replicated across the remaining two stores, enabling centralized subscription management and reporting.

Results

The migration delivered immediate stability and long-term operational improvements:

  • 2,000+ active subscribers migrated without disruption
  • Zero customer churn during the transition
  • All recurring billing moved to Shopify Payments
  • Three Shopify stores unified under one system
  • Complete removal of Authorize.net dependency

Beyond migration success, the business gained:

  • Better visibility into subscription performance
  • Simplified payment processing and reporting
  • Reduced operational overhead
  • Increased confidence in scaling recurring revenue

Key Takeaway

Hunter Pure Air’s success highlights the importance of having the right infrastructure in place for subscription businesses.

By replacing a fragmented system with a unified, Shopify-native solution, they were able to protect their existing subscriber base while building a more scalable and efficient foundation for growth.

The result was not just a successful migration—but a more stable and manageable recurring revenue system.
