Overview

This migration process helps you transfer existing subscription data from your current subscription app to the Easy Subscriptions app on Shopify. If you’re using Stripe as the payment gateway for subscriptions, it’s important to follow the additional steps outlined below. Make sure to properly configure Stripe as either your primary or legacy gateway, depending on your store’s setup.

Step-by-Step Migration Guide (For Stripe Users)

Step 1: Check Your Payment Gateway (Stripe) Configuration

  1. If you are using Stripe as the payment gateway for subscriptions:
    • Ensure that Stripe is connected as the primary gateway on your Shopify store.
    • If Shopify Payments is connected as the primary gateway, make sure that Stripe is connected as the legacy payment gateway.
  2. To check or connect Stripe as a legacy payment gateway, follow the link below. Be sure to modify the URL according to your store name:
    • Link: https://admin.shopify.com/store/{shop}/payments/legacy_subscription
  3. Replace {shop} with your actual Shopify store name in the URL.

Step 2: Access the Easy Subscriptions App

  1. Log in to your Shopify dashboard.
  2. Click on the Apps section from the sidebar.
  3. Search for the Easy Subscriptions app and click to open it.

Step 3: Navigate to Settings

  1. Inside the Easy Subscriptions app, locate and click on the Settings tab.
  2. Look for the Import Subscription option.

Step 4: Export the Sample CSV Template

  1. In the Import Subscription section, download the provided Sample CSV Template.
    • This template will show you the exact format required to import your subscriptions into Easy Subscriptions.

Step 5: Export Your Existing Subscription Data

  1. Log in to your current subscription app (the one you are migrating from).
  2. Export all subscription data from this app.
  3. Ensure the exported data contains all the necessary attributes such as customer details, product names, and payment schedules.

Step 6: Arrange Subscription Data

  1. Open the sample CSV template you downloaded earlier.
  2. Copy and arrange your exported subscription data into the same format as the sample template.
    • Make sure all attributes (e.g., subscription ID, customer details, product information, billing intervals) match the template.

Step 7: Import the Subscription Data

  1. Return to the Import Subscription section in the Easy Subscriptions app.
  2. Upload your completed CSV file with the subscription data.
  3. The import process will begin, and it may take some time to process all the data.

Step 8: Verify Import and Check Logs

  1. Once the import is complete, you can download the Import Logs.
  2. Review the logs to ensure there are no errors during the migration.
    • If there are any errors, the logs will provide details for troubleshooting.

Step 9: Migration Completed

  1. Congratulations! You have successfully migrated all your subscriptions to the Easy Subscriptions app. You can now manage, track, and adjust subscriptions seamlessly within your Shopify store.
